What is the minimum voltage that an mt1000 should be run at?
I have a battery that after charging is at 8.1 volts, but shortly thereafter goes to 7.6. It will receive & appear ok after several hours, but when I tested the voltage again, it was at 5.6... Also, will the power on tone not beep if the battery voltage is low? And lastly, does a flashing red transmit light indicate a low battery (I'm guessing the light should be steady)

Sounds like you need a new battery. Your correct that a flashing TX light is indicating a low battery. MT1000's will not beep on a low battery.
