XTL5000 audio output
Hello, I have a fire station that wishes to hook the rx audio from their XTL 5000 to their Bogen in house amplifier.. Has anyone done this ?? if so how.. What did u use to couple the output to the amp??.. can they still use the local speaker ??
Motorola...You can Buy better but you will NEVER pay more...
I looked for my XTL5000 Service manual...but can’t seem to locate it just yet. But, on the back of the radio there is an accessory connector, large square looking thing that should have the leads for the ignition sense and the external speaker. From the accessory connector, there should be a pin/s that provide receive audio independent of the volume attenuation. You will need this pin/s to direct the receive audio into your audio amp. If you tap into the external speaker the volume attenuation of the radio will directly affect the audio level going into the audio amplifier.
If, I find my manual...or find out from somebody at work which pin/s to use I'll post it. Or maybe somebody on this board has the answer.
