strange message using cps and ht1250 vhf

Post by phrawg »

I have 1 ht750 and 2 ht1250's (vhf and very possibly all programmed
by the same shop) that return a message I have never seen before.
When I go to read the radio I get a box that says (maybe not exact
wording) "image has a block with ABSBLKID39, but the layout
does not have the block". :-? :-? and that is it.
Click ok and you are back to opening screen. When no radio is attached
the normal "no communication" error is given. Must be something in
the radio that someone figures is "super secret squirrel" or whatever.
or maybe locked out or passworded somehow ? Just to little chance
that 3 radios/2 models would do the same message if it is an error.
Any ideas on this ? T.I.A. guys for whatever help you can be.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

What version is your CPS? I have seen similar errors when trying to read newer programmed radios with an older version CPS, instead of the nice 'codeplug too new' error. It's not password protection for sure...that just comes up with a window asking for the password.

version is 6.05 doesn't seem I have had that one that long but maybe
there is newer. Guess I should check and download a newer one.
I know I should be in my 3 years. Thanks, Dick, AKA Phrawg

Nah, 6.05 should be just fine for you...there's 6.05.03 out, but you can still read radios with 6.05 with it as far as I know. Weird problem...worth trying the newer one if you can I suppose.

I just received a very similar message when reading an HT1250 using V2.XX of the CPS in W98. Uninstalled this and installed V6.05 (P/N HVN 9025N) and it reads and writes fine now.

The most current version of the HVN9025 CPS is R06.12.08. It's highly possible that there are a lot of HT's and CDM's floating around out there that have been programmed with way newer versions than what you have.
