T3011DX - Read keys from one radio.....

Post by Hightower »

Logic tells me that you can not read the keys from one XTS and clone them into another XTS - for security reasons.

Am I correct?

Yep.

You cant even read the keys from a keyloader once they have been entered. only way is to get the original keyloader, clone ir into your keyloader, then keyload your radio.

Cheers,
Matt

Ok, that makes sense for security reasons.

Thanks for clarifying things :D

Apparantly you can do this with a KVL3000+, BUT i have not verified it.

seems like a security hole if this indeed the case.

It would also void the KVL's FIPS certification, so I doubt it.

FIPs mode is optional in a KVL3000. You can turn it on and off, however when you change mode it resets the KVL and loses all keys.

No, you can't. Or, let me clarify...if it's possible, it's not in the novel of a manual that comes with the KVL3000+. As someone mentioned about FIPS, it would void the certification if it were possible.
