GM300 Remote head?

Post by flamewild »

Does anyone know of a kit to make your GM300 have a remote head? I want to mount the radio in my new truck, but the hole is not deep enough for the radio. I was wandering if there was a wiring harness or something you could use to mount the radio somewhere and have the head somewhere else? Any help would be greatly apprieciated. I love this radio, but I might have to change to a M1225 to get it where I want it.

The QuickMount kit is what you are looking for.

Or Moto HLN8144B
Or the LONG kit, HLN8143B.
The one for the Maxtrac is different.

What radios do you own?: You can't imagine!...

I fabricated an extension cable with off-market connectors & flat ribbon cable for a customer's vehicle and works great.
Some minor extra work is needed for the speaker cable, that is connected directly on the pc board.
I also used the two remaing holes on the head to fix it on the dashboard ,with long self-screwing screws.

Update: You are talking about GM300, so forget the extra work for the speaker cable (Maxtrac only), since GM300 uses the head's connector.
There are 10 kind of people: Those who understand binary and those who don't.
