Syntor X9K mode conversion

Post by etexemt »

Where can I get the 8kx8 EEPROM chips to upgrade a X9K to 64 modes? I have searched them on a search engine, but there are so many different kinds I'm not sure which one I need...
Any info would be appreciated...

I have got them at Fry's off of the shelf. Also Most mail order electronic parts stores will have them. The part you want is a 28C64.

OK, one more edit, look here for all of the info you will need.

For example, Jameco has the 28C64A-25 in dip-28 standard package at $ 4.45 each, part number 74827CG. Don't forget to reset the jumper next to the eeprom to use the larger capacity part. And that some early heads must also be upgraded.

Try and stay below 200ms access times, i prefer 120 or 150 components. I have had 250 and up chips cause fits with some radios and cause random error messages on power up because the chip was reading too slow.

Quite right, except that should be nS. Mine are 120 nS devices.
