Where can I get the 8kx8 EEPROM chips to upgrade a X9K to 64 modes? I have searched them on a search engine, but there are so many different kinds I'm not sure which one I need...
Any info would be appreciated...

I have got them at Fry's off of the shelf. Also Most mail order electronic parts stores will have them. The part you want is a 28C64.etexemt wrote:Where can I get the 8kx8 EEPROM chips to upgrade a X9K to 64 modes? - What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
there's a guy on ebay all the time too selling them by the pair for around $20.

Try and stay below 200ms access times, i prefer 120 or 150 components. I have had 250 and up chips cause fits with some radios and cause random error messages on power up because the chip was reading too slow.
