Motorola SP50 UHF/VHF?
Ebay auction # 160067554052
Is this a typo/error or is such a unit made with both bands together in one portable like this? Just wondering...

Back in my day UHF had stubby antennas and the low band ones were so darn long you could fish with the things!!!
Yes, the antenna length is deceiving, but then again so is the descriptions people put on Ebay for their auction radios!!! Ask most of them a question and they haven't a clue, that is why I came here...

i agree both antennaes look uhf but you never know but i'd be willing to bet that since he has 2 of them, they talk to eachother. i'd still ask for model numbers, even if they are both uhf you don't know which uhf split they are.

I told him what number to read, but he just wants to sell them, he doesn't seem to want to figure them out. How can they just put things on and expect them to sell? They'd get more $$ with a description, but they don't realize that... I have moved on to looking at other auctions just for fun, once and awhile you can get a real bargain if you are in the right place at the right time.

That's half the fun.SilasGore1 wrote:How can they just put things on and expect them to sell? They'd get more $$ with a description, but they don't realize that...

I missed out on a nice ASTRO rig that went for like $130. Perfect working condition, too. It looks like it was just one 'serious' guy bidding, with no one to drive it up.once and awhile you can get a real bargain if you are in the right place at the right time.

Anyway, back on topic... If you're still interested, you might ask him if the two radios talk to each other, which even a complete idiot could answer.
