Do not even think about buying it, in my opinion it is the worst product quickmount/Motorola has ever released. I can write you a list of issues but I don't have that much time on my hands. Buy an XTL or MCS. Yeah, more expensive but you will save yourself the heartache.

A couple of helpful hints- While I know of people who have had some problems with the actual interface box, all of the (numerous) bugs that I have run into had to do with their cables or the bent metal housing halves that they fabricated.

I have found that the units work fairly well if you just use their interface box in conjunction with the housing halves and cables from a genuine /\/\ remote mount kit. That and a good power filter on the supply lines will typically cure 98% of what ails the units.

I was actually hoping that they would come out with a dual drawer kit, but that project, along with the dual head kits, seems to have died.

I have 14 units in service utilizing the CDM and Quickmount dual control unit.

I have only incurred minor problems , the main one was the metal rear housing, I went to the Motorola plastic unit and have not experienced 1 problem since.

I always use a Motorola in line dc filter, 80 amp and I wire the dual control unit and the radio thru a 50 amp relay controlled by the ignition.

This is contrary to what Quickmount ststes in their instructions, but I have not had 1 problem doing this.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the setup.

You are aware that Qucikmount no longer makes these units due to pressure from Motorola. They were trying to find a buyer for that unit.

Do you have the part# handy? I've lost it over the years.

I have 32 of them in service. The only problem I have had was the power up sequence. If you leave the interface box powered on all the time you should have no problems.

I have installed a 15 second time delay on the CDM's to ensure that the interface box powers before the radios. This was on a vehicle that needed to be completely powered down to save the batteries.

By the way, I removed ALL the dual head MCS (21)that I had in service and replaced them with Quickmounts. The dual head MCS were nothing but problems! Why spend $3k for problems, when you can spend $1.5K

Anyone heard if Quickmount has been sold ? Last I heard, they were not offering any more dual control systems for the CDM but they were looking for a buyer.

You are very welcome. This is a great site and someone is always willing to help a fellow member out.

Does anyone know if Quickmount has been bought. I think it was a great system for the price.
