GP68 Programming Cables...?

Post by fogster »

Alright, I'm dying with curiosity here...

What exactly is the point of a programming cable for the GP68?

Keeping an archive file on the computer to dump back in the radio instead of having to totally reprogram the radio from scratch would be one.

you can not program the gp68 at all with any cable or read and store codeplugs, that cable you are asking about is for tuning purposes, the radio still needs to be aligned.

True, you can not program the GP68 with a computer, ect.
BUT you CAN CLONE the GP68 to another with the cloning cable.

The cable with the DB25 connector is for alignment purposes.
