HT 600 Com fail

Post by BrienD »

I know I have read about this problem before, I can’t find it in the archives.
I have a HT600 H34SVU7160CN
I am trying to read the radio with the HT600 RSS R02.03.01.
The Computer is a 333 MHz P1. Running only Dos.

I can’t get it to read, it will not pass the com test.
The rib and computer well work on Sabers HT1000, Maxtrac radios.
The RIB is an aftermarket version.
I have noticed that the gneiss radios do use different pins on the RIB cable, I opened my RIB and both data bus pins have a trace between them.
So think the aftermarket rib is my week link but I have deserved a doup slap befour.
Thank you,
Brien

Computer WAAAY to fast for that software.

The timing for the serial communications is wrong.

R03.01.00 will probably work on that computer but R02 does not like anything faster than a 486/33.

Also, as is true with all Genesis series radios, make sure the contacts in the accessory connector on top of the radio are clean. Use a pencil eraser, or an emery board in extreme cases, to clean them.
