Post by rangerfourever »

Anyone out there have first hand knowledge of Motorola's new X2 TDMA trunking? I am involved with a lardge local government communications consortium and we just had a motorola presentation. Just wondering if any systems are online out there and feedback on them. thanks

There will be an LTR/Passport version of the TDMA TRBO radios coming out Q3 of 2008, I believe. It was shown on the TRBO roadmap at the Vegas expo. They have said previously there will eventually be SmartNet versions, but that will be later in '09 or possibly '10.

I'd bet it's nothing more than a modified iDEN system with Encryption.

No - they didn't have **** there honestly...

They were pushing Trbo and a couple other products, but nothing really "high" tier.
