Quantar and UPS

Post by FMROB »

Hello all,

Have a 100 watt quantar being installed in a generated building. Would like to put a ups in line to keep the AC clean and to pick up the lag between loss of AC and generator.

What are you guys using? Would like a rack mount APC unit is possible.

Thanks, Rob

Happy 4th

I would use a 1000 VA UPS. I use the APC SmartUPS 1000 model (SUA1000).

1000 watts sounds a bit big, but I have found that 500 VA units are only rated at around 300 watts. I have had some that fold back on high in-rush current.

I have 2 configured the same way and the 1000VA's have no problem holding the load for a minute or more while the generators get their acts together.
