JT1000 Vs HT1000

Post by CGRESQ192 »

A few questions

What are the differences between the JT1000 and the HT1000?

Obviously the FPP function on the JT1000.

Is that really the only major difference?

Is the JT1000 spec'd the same way as the HT1000 is as. as far as durability/designed for public safety use?

Are all parts interchangable (batteries, speaker mics etc.)?

I've read the model specific info on the page here and searched the forums

Any insight is appreciated

It's more or less a field-programmable HT1000. I don't believe it has MDC capability. I think certain versions of the JT1000 were capable of QCII decode, others were not. I believe there is NO support for RSS based frequency programming, I believe ALL frequency programming MUST be done from the front panel. The RSS is only for tuning the radio.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I remember of it.

Sorry, wrong.

JT1000 can be programmed via RSS just like an HT1000.

It also has an LCD screen which an HT1000 does not have.

The JT1000's do not support 2.5KHz channel steps, they will not work with some narrow band channels due to that. I don't know if that is true with the newer rev's of HT1000's.

The HT1000 does have MDC 1200 & QCII. However I have seen some that did not support in the HT1000 MDC. Mine does ending in a serial no. with a BN (you can do a Search here -- type in MDC + HT1000 and you will get 150 hits)
The main Batlab page has a page on this topic; http://www.batlabs.com/visar.html
