Removing Zetron 4010 from dispatch console
In our dispatch center we have several mobile radios wired into a Zetron 4010. We're simplifying and we only need one radio, but we need 2 desk mics. So my question is really, how many desk mics can I hook up to the accessory port of a CDM mobile? My plan is to remove the Zetron from the work area and just have mics and a shared speaker on the desktop.

Not sure what the practical limit might be, but 2 or 3 are no problem at all.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Just make sure they are compatible with the radio. Also make sure that they don't have hot mics so that they
will pick up noise or conversations in the room when another mic is keyed.

And cut the parallel mic jumpers so that one PTT doesn't light up all mics. That's always fun.

Just wire the rear mic as one and use the front mic also... That way you dont have to monkey with messing with the radio ... those zetron 4010's are junk (just my opinion...)
