I want to connect an external speaker(to be in an adjacent room) while retaining the internal speaker. I have connected to pins 1 and 16 of the rear connector but the external speaker has extremely low volume. Any solutions?
Thanks for looking.

I have set up this configuration many times and use it in numerous applications without a problem. First question...are you using a CDM-series approved speaker?
Re: CDM external spkr
You have low volume because you are running it to an adjacent room. That is an 8 ohm speaker so the cable loss accounts for the low volume. If you really want it in the next room you may have to look at installing a public address amplifier and use a 70v transformer.kens wrote:I want to connect an external speaker(to be in an adjacent room) while retaining the internal speaker. Found it! Had the plug wired for Maxtrac. Moved the ground pin and all is well.
Thanks
