CDM external spkr

Post by kens »

I want to connect an external speaker(to be in an adjacent room) while retaining the internal speaker. I have connected to pins 1 and 16 of the rear connector but the external speaker has extremely low volume. Any solutions?
Thanks for looking.

I have set up this configuration many times and use it in numerous applications without a problem. First question...are you using a CDM-series approved speaker?

You have low volume because you are running it to an adjacent room. That is an 8 ohm speaker so the cable loss accounts for the low volume. If you really want it in the next room you may have to look at installing a public address amplifier and use a 70v transformer.

Found it! Had the plug wired for Maxtrac. Moved the ground pin and all is well.
Thanks
