HT1550XLS Problem

Post by JimmyL1011 »

Waris series radio, programming using R06.12.02. When opening codeplug file, it says

"CgToDb : Unable to set value returned by transform unpackRecCgValToIndex in slot 4223 of object Conventional Personality Proto_11318"

I assume I incorrectly programmed something but program won't open file to allow me to fix it. File was never programmed into radio so I can start from scratch (ugh) but there MUST be a way to fix the error.

Any help from the esteemed community?

open up an old saved simple codeplug and write that to the radio and see if it comes back to life. or what does the radio do, is it working correctly and just not reading or writing?

I was programming a file and apparently entered a frequency or setting the software (not the radio) didn't like. Every time I go to re-open the file, it displays the warning I listed in the opening post. Of course, the radio can accomodate up to 160 conventional frequencies and the file I was working on was about 145 channels full. Now I have to start fron scratch and reprogram EACH FREQUENCY, PL, AND RADIO-SPECIFIC item over. Talk about tedious. I was just hoping there was a way to edit the file WITHOUT having to have the program open it. LIke maybe a text editor or Excel or something. Anything to have to start from channel #1 and re-do everything. Ugh

that software has an error icon in the taskbar, click on it and it will take you to the mistake

On the Pro Series radios you need to check the " Invalid Fields" before you close the codeplug ,this will help from getting the error you have next time. I have seen many errors like this over the years,it sucks when you have spent lots of time on it.

Ah, well.....I was just hoping there was a way to fix the problem file without starting from scratch. The error icon on the taskbar and the "invalid fields" pulldown only work when you can successfully OPEN the file. My program WILL NOT open the file due to the invalid field. I was hoping there was some kind of workaround like opening it with a text editor and correcting it and then re-saving at as a .cpg file. Big pain in the A**. Thank you for your suggestions.

that don't sound like a programming error issue if it let you save it that way? Maybe next time try to write it to the radio every once in a while instead of waiting until the end?

OK - Just in case I'm not being clear. As HLA guessed, I did JUST THAT. I was hoping to get the codeplug all loaded up and THEN program the radio. I should have done it incrementally; a dozen or so channels at a time. Now, apparently, I will have to start from scratch and reprogram a new ideration of the codeplug and re-enter the whole thing. Thank God, I DID print out almost all of the file onto a paper report. Once again, thank you all for suggestions, words of encouragement.

BTW - it didn't let me "save it that way" - I shut down the computer and it "forced" a shutdown of the file and program, saving a copy to the hard drive. Bummer
