DPL decoder software?

Decoding PL tones is a breeze. But DPL codes... now that's another story.

Does anyone know of software (hopefully windows based) that can decode DPL?

hi, i personally dont know of a program, but recently i learned that alot on the newer ham radios are comming with dpl for use in APRS, this is really cool. i rememberback to the early 90's where dpl was only a business radio thing, now hams have adopted a use for it. the bottom line is, i see you are a ham, so if you check any of your current ham radios you might find one that can scan and decode DPL's, good luck.

I'm not up on the latest computer software that can decode stuff like this, but many service monitors can do the job no problem. Even old IFR 1200's can do it. I'm pretty sure there are several scanners on the market, Bearcats & the like, which can do it.Try Opto-electronics as well.

Yes many radios now do Dpl.
The Yeasu 2600 is a 175 channel
radio that does tpl and dpl.

If you are just looking for the DPL code number, then Zetron had a Model 8 and 8B
Repeater programmer/timekeeper that will decode PL AND DPL using a receiver discriminator output. The M8 also will encode PL, DPL, DTMF and Paging!
Also Commspec makes a decoder board that is programmable for a specific code.
There is also a hand held receiver that also displays the DPL code and RF frequency, OPTI somthing.

When one of my M8's went bad, Zetron said they were discontinued because "there is an abondance of decoding software available" and no one was buying them.. Go figure, I can not find the software.
PS one M8 is still sick, the piggy back adapter under the RAM chip is bad.
