DRL and Wig-Wags on an Impala

Post by motorolamonster911 »

One of my friends just got a newer model Impala with Daytime Running Headlights. He wants to put a wig-wag flasher on it. I know I have seen a thread somewhere about how to do this, can someone point me in that direction or help me out.

Thanks,

Nick

I'm not positive but I think the UHF2150B Impala flasher requires that you have the police package. If not, I think maybe you have to cut one of the wire and splice it yourself. Something like that.

Federal and Sound off make a Impala flasher for Police and non police package cars. The sound off comes with the plugs for the plug and play harness in the grill. Ive hooked up a few non-police package cars it worked fine..

The Impala flasher was designed for the Impala with the help of GM. I have yet to have a problem using the correct flasher for the carpolice package or not. I wont speak for the few who have tried to rig something with a relay and jumpers to get the desired effect..

The Sound-Off/Whelen (made by Sound-Off, whether you want to believe this or not) works just fine on non-police Impalas. You won't screw up any computers or such. The big difference between civilian and 9C1 cars is that 9C1 has an OEM disconnect and a pre-wired powerup lead pair into the car.

Ive done about 30-40 for all kind of different PD's and 3 letter agencys. I have yet have one come back that was installed on a non Police package. Although I have had a few federal Impala flashers installed on Police packages that have taken the proverbal dump..
