Recall on the HT1250's ???

Post by n9upc »

Had a slimy salesman from one of the slimy /\/\ dealers/shops stop by today and said we need to collect all of our HT1250's we are using so they could be sent in for a recall and update.

We asked him what and explained we have over 30 portables on the fleet and we could not get them all in and send them with him. In addition I asked him what exactly was the recall (as I am sure I would heard from /\/\ about it as well as something on here.)

He claims that ALL HT1250's with the orange rubber gasket around the battery connectors on the back of the radio needed to be sent back in right away for an update.

Well we told him we couldnot do it and we would have to check into as we can not pull portables from the field without spares (which of course he could not provide) and that we would have to do some switching around and would get back to him this week sometime.

Well after he left we got on the horn to /\/\ right away and asked, and of course /\/\'s response was your local dealer would be able to answer that for you. Would you like me to locate one in your area for you. Of course we advised themof what we were told and they said a dealer could help us out and once again we explained that we were questioning the local dealer.

So is this true or is there service department slow so they are trying to drum up some service/warranty billing? I did howevernotice that the new HT1250's we just got do have a gray rubber gasket around the battery tabs on the radio and not orange.

Fact or Fiction???

There is still no active recall or SRN out on this.

If he's willing to do it all for free, I'd be very surprised.

Suprised they did not offer you some loaners to hold you over during the gasket changes.Or even suggest you do it in batches at a time. Most dealers have a rental/demo/loaner pool of radios.
If he did not offer anything then that is just poor customer service or consideration.
Good luck with them

What radios do you own?: Way too many to list, over 50

well we ordered 14 ht 1250's for my fire deprtment about alittle over a year ago and we had a problem with the radio staying keyed up once you pushed the ptt and when you let go the radio would not un key. it was determined that if you turned on the radio while it was in the moble charger (never tryed it in the desk top charger) it would cause the radio to do this. all the radios were sent back to motorola and a new firmware was loaded. or so i was told by the local moto shop.

HT1250 Recall

Post by celltech25 »

HOw do you get there hasn't been a SRN for this Problem YOu can send the Radio to the Depot and put on the Tag To Perform SRN-1383 Only and they will install the Containment Kit at no charge and ship the radio back to you but it will not be covered by the 90 day bouncer warranty
