2004 Ford Explorer Full Troy Console - Anyone ever done one?

Post by code3media »

I have an upcoming project that will require me to pull out the factory console out of a 04 Ford Explorer SLT and install a Troy Console with NHD Floor mount.

Has anyone ever done one of these? I've installed the Jotto Console that uses the factory console as a base, but have never pulled out the whole console.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

I have. Remove the factory console all the way. Hopefully it doesnt have the rear radio controls, otherwise its a real pain. It may have the traction control switch in the console that can be mounted on one of the faceplates. Make sure that you use the a baseplate with some kind of bale bracket to mount to the factory mounting holes. I was able to use the original front of the console. I just measured it and cut it to length. It came out pretty nice.Image

FireCpt809-

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that an AOI airbag disable mounted to the right side of the console/dash? Can you elaborate on what was required to purchase and install the unit? I'm in need of an airbag disable for my '05 F350, as I don't want either myself or the passenger to eat an MW800 display in the event of a wreck.

Any and all details would be most appreciated.
