First off thank you for the help.
I do have a ACU1000 in our moble command post and it works well.
In my other job I work for a school district and my boss is looking for a way to link schools during a lock down “man with a gun” event.
The NXU unit may do what I am looking for.

Connecting sites together with Ethernet?

I am wondering if anyone has any experience tying different campus’s together over Ethernet.
We have simplex vhf radios at each campus and I want to tie them together in one system in an emergency.
We have the network now so I am looking for a bridge to tie the radio to the network.

I did try to get the brass to use CLMARS thy opted to use some of their MA radios with our cp.
I do love how I can always get a good cross section of options when I ask a question.

I know I have read about this problem before, I can’t find it in the archives.
I have a HT600 H34SVU7160CN
I am trying to read the radio with the HT600 RSS R02.03.01.
The Computer is a 333 MHz P1. Running only Dos.

I can’t get it to read, it will not pass the com test.

This may sound stupid but I have had polarity issued hooking up headsets before.
Volume was low until I omed out the cable and found the reversal.

If you are trying to activate the internal speaker and all you need is to short the twp pins I think 15-16, I use a computer jumper. I just bought ten for .99 at my local computer parts store.

We have about 150 Latitude 600 series computer at work and we are having a problem with the display power regulators going out. We have lost about 10% and some of those are out of warranty.
Besides that they are good.

Cool. I spent today making a new personality with all of my channels zones names.
I am planning to copy the alignment info from booth radios before I start and use the saber II setup info to start.
It is still in the mail so I am chomping at the bit.

Saber new personality

I wanted another opinion so hear goes.
I have a saber I that is programmed in the 155 area. My agency has added more channels so I found a deal on a saber II but it is in the lower split that ends at 150.
Can I just swap out the modules and load a new personality.
Or do I make a new personality hex ...

They have a UHF repeater and license for four simplex channels.

Not that It maters but I am looking at a Dell ad and the only laptop that has a serial port is the 600M. It is not the most expensive model at $1299 base price.
I have installed 95 of them in the past month and only had two bad ones.

Most of the speakers wire that I have seen I call zip cord. I f you look close one of the wires is covered with a ribbed insulator.

Ht 1000 speaker mikes are pretty easy to find around hear, I have a Jedi speaker mike I may trade you if you are interested.

I think UHF is the way to go. I will allow you to go to a repeater later down the road without replacing all of your portables. I also agree that it will help your coverge.

I hear our job is tied into a Homeland Security grant.
We are moving our court security to 800 now and moving them to 700 after the county changes over.
The radios I see from Motorola look like they are set up for this by being wide band 700 and 800.

Just heard my agency is planning to go to 700 megahertz in the next five years. Has any one had a similar experience lately?
I seam to recall a nationwide push to do this.

I didn’t mean to sound like a b#** head. When I see the ANI reference I got confused. ANI does not have a database it speaks the number you are dialing from.
800 numbers are similar to caller ID. In that they send info.

In the past I have traced problems like this by using component freeze spray.
I run the device until the trouble appears and freeze parts until the problem clears up.

I have a Saber I secure capable submersible that someone had tried to pry off the knobs.(not me)

After the black outer knob broke they super glued them together. Last night they fell apart.

I would put an amp meter on the B+ (With engine off and key off )and unplug the accessories until you find your biggest drop. And if the device is working properly put it on a switch or Tie it into the Ignition.
