Thanks for the input, but it is not a question of working or not. It works perfect, but I'm attempting to make a slight modification to the mic as a whole.
Seems like the best thing to do would be to find a non-working microphone to cannabalize, or get a cheap japanese knock-off to sacrifice ...

How do I open an HT1000 speaker mic?
I have a need to open an HT1000 speaker mic and have not found any way of doing it other than to use a vice and soft towel (which I'm not willing to try on my one and only speaker mic ..... yet).
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck cgetting one open and could point me in the right direction ...

Maxtrac PTT Out
I'm hoping someone can help me with this one here ...
Is there any way to set one of the option outputs on the 16 pin connector of a maxtrac to be grounded when the PTT is pressed (or am I missing an obvious description on the piout diagram)??? I know the PTT in has to be grounded to make the radio ...

Oh Rats!
I have the T5600A model, which has the tiny display on it. Someone told me that it would actually decode MDC, but looking at the last post I am starting to have my doubts. Do you know if the T5600 or T5600A versions will actually spit out the MDC in ASCII format somehow? Any help would be ...

Could it also be a T5600 model that uses DC instead of Tone? I just got my hands on a T5600 and I am looking for a way to distinguish between the two as well. Also, Dan, do you know what pins I should be connected to in order to pull the ASCII form of MDC1200 from the console to put into a RS232 ...

Andy,
First off, kudos on taking the initiative to produce a program that has awaken the nerd in us all. This program seems to hold great potential, and with the support, input (and not to mention the wide base of willing beta testers here) I think this program might become something even bigger ...

Comtegra/T5600 Console pinouts for MDC1200 -> ASCII decod
After calling both Gai-tronics (the original manufacturer of the Comtegra console) and even Mother /\/\ herself, I am at a dead end for trying to figure out the way to get the ASCII out of either console and into the computer (via COM port RS232) for input into a software decoding program. Neither ...

New lead on the MDC quest
So, I have been in contact with the software developer of the software mentioned above, and I got another piece of advise out of him.
"The program looks for the data out from the modem. ASCII is the format
but it is usually similar to "0A122C" with a chr$(13) at the end.
This basically reprenst ...

I have an HT1000 with a DTMF pad and have no problem using it in upstate NY (for both HEAR and repeater access codes). I know that in order to use the DTMF function on the HT1000, it has to be in the non-scanning mode (Set to B in my radio) and you have to press the phone icon. I'm not too familiar ...

How would I go about getting a base station controller. I saw your earlier post about the DOS program you ran and it did spark my interest. The program that I mentioned earlier in this post seems to hold potential for what I would like to appy it to. We use Windows2000 cad stations that connect to a ...

New MDC decoding idea
After much searching and even more dead ends, I have possibly found out a way to decode MDC1200 ids and display them on a computer screen. I've found a gentlman who has written a program that has both a server and viewer program used in conjunction with a "MDC1200 modem" ... per his webpage http ...
