That's not a memory problem per se. The "environment" is a section of memory reserved for storing "environment variables", like the set of directories to look for executables in (the PATH variable). When a program is started, a fixed size buffer is allocated to store the environm...

Re: Transmitter output values gm1200
There are no guaranteed mappings from calibration values to watts - that's the whole point of a calibration value; it varies from radio to radio. If you turn the calibration value all the way up, you WILL be overdriving your transmitter - causing distortion, widening the spectrum to interfere with o...

Re: Electrical theory - running AC off of DC supply and..
Most modern power supplies are high frequency switching power supplies. The first thing such supplies do with the incoming AC is rectify it and turn it into high voltage DC, usually 170 or 300 VDC. They then switch that DC at very high frequencies (usually 1MHz or greater) to drive a very small tran...

Most radio software is written for Windows. You *might* be able to run the software under Wine, which provides the Windows APIs under Linux, but it's hit or miss (I've had some luck with Motorola's newer software doing this). The first thing I'd ask is why are you wanting to use a Linux computer for...

My next guess is that your computer is too fast for the program. Do you have a real RS-232 port, or only a USB to Serial cable? Emulation software cannot make software designed to do bit twiddling on a 16550 work on a USB port, and your programmer software may be waiting for a hardware interrupt that will never happen because you don't have a real UART.

NNM
where NN is numerical value, and M is the multiplier of that value, giving a value of NN*10^M
In this case, 85*10^1 = 850.
Were it 852 then the value would be 85*10^2 = 8500 ohms.

There's not going to be DMR for the 2945. DMR would be the 3900 family.
As for the rest of your uses - the 2945 should do pretty well. That used to be a Marconi Instruments device before IFR bought them, and was Marconi's competition for the COM-120B, so I am a bit biased.
