I am using a CDM-1250's in a system that uses a Kenwood repeater. I am getting a horrible squelch burst when the repeater dekeys roughly 1 second after the user dekeys. Pre and post excessive, yes. But so many are trained that the MDC burst also signifys the end of transmission. I have reduced the DOS to 0 and it almost cliped out the whole pre burst, but still gives me the side tone. All is well.

I am reprogramming my depts radios. I have many variety as I do software & cables. Does the Midland Titan radio use the same programming cable as say the CDM 1250, or are the pinouts different. I can't remember if I have a specific cable.

I have a radio (brand name withheld) that won't accept the frequency 158.7975 or 154.2725. It defaults to 158.800 and 154.275. Any ideas why? It takes other narrow band frequencies such as 154.2875. What am I missing here? Aren't all radios recently manufactured supposed to do the narrow freqs?

I am looking for a desktop tone remote that can do custom 2-tone. Zetron wants an unbelieveable amount of money to make it do custom 2-tone. CPI remotes can't do it. It is possible that Gai-tronics remote can do it. Any other ideas?

I purchased a CDM Bluetooth kit. No mic came with it, and I can't find it anywhere on the Moto on-line purchase site. I heard they were going to dicontinue, but why sell half the parts if the other half are not available?

Can the radio encode a series of tones? or only one at a time.

I think you will find that if you round it, it will receive. Perhaps not the best, but it should do it.

The only way to set up the pager to alert with 1 steady tone alert and one interupted tone alert is to use the A-B, A-C coding option. Otherwise, any of the long (8 second) tones will be steady.

example:

A 977.2 B 716.1
A 977.2 C 881.0

Then it is not a side tone. We use post ID. When the radio is keyed, a very short, high pitched beep is heard approx 3/4 of a second after you press the PTT. What is this beep, and how is this programmed? It really is a nice feature, as it keeps people from speaking too soon....

AH HA! I heard it occur on another frequency. This rules out the RF link. I do believe it is definitely cell phones!

After further "testing" I am now 97% sure the cell phones are causing this. Particularly.....NEXTEL.

I had one dispatcher (Nextel) call the other dispatcher (Cingular) and transmit at the same time. BINGO! Duplicated interference.

Band is VHF.

Nothing above this antenna. We are licensed to not exceed the height of the tower, which is infact the lightning rod. The rod is adjacent to the antenna, and is a whole 2" higher. The rod is located in the center. I doubt that is causing the problem.

Midland is making a 110 watt mobile that has an inband mobile repeater built in to it. I have heard the State of Illinois is using these and they work great. I have a pyramid coupled with a Kenwood now, and it is just ok. Does anybody know anything about these.
