VHF XTS3000 and paging
I have an XTS3000 model 2 that I would like to use for paging. I would like to set it up so I can use it to receive fire pages when I am not carrying a pager. How do you do this in the programming and is this even possible?--Thanks!

The beep I am talking about is just a single beep when the PTT button is pushed. When I turn the top channel knob from 1 to 2 it says unprogrammed on the screen and give the steady error tone. I am pretty sure it is set to change the channel already. I know I am doing something wrong in the programm...

I have an aftermarket cable and RIB box from Flea-bay and that's what I was wanting to use the USB/Serial adaptor on. I have one like you listed from Radio Shack and that's what I was going to use. Sounds like it should work OK..........Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for that info....so at one time the most the radio will scan is 15 or 16 then right....or can you get it to do more than that?

Can someone tell me how the conventional XTL2500 radios scan? Is it still the 15 or 16 channels or do they do more then that now? I am not too familiar with the newer radios. Any input on this would be appreciated.--Thanks in advance!

Havis console faceplate screws
Does anyone know the correct size and length of the screws that go in the faceplates for a Havis console? I need to get some for a console I have that doesn't have any at all. They don't need to have the hex head just be the right size and length. --Thanks!

I looked through all the settings on the channels in the scan list and they are all the same. I haven't found anything diffrerent yet. I have made fixed lists,taken off priorities,adjusted the squelch levels and changed hang times,nothing has worked yet. I'm at the point now where I am ready to buil...

Well so far it sounds like I should just use higher power radios on the UHF frequencies I already use. The biggest reason I was checking is because I recently had someone tell me you could easily get 20 miles or more using low band. Any more info would be helpful.--thanks

Licensing wont be an issue. The area is mostly city but is is fairly flat,no mountains or desert anywhere close. We are not talking 20 miles of skyscrapers here either. Any more help or recommendations would be appreciated.
