Hi there,
What is the use of pin 8 Opt B+ in the Saber connector ?
It is not used in most of the headset/handmic I have but on one the headset it is used but it starts to give me strange behavior (will not disconnect after keyed).
Thanks in advanced,
Chris

Thanks guys,
A little more info on the headset, its a TASC II headset for special forces and they are reasonably new and does have a cable for Saber (except it costs $350). I am sure there is a way to hook up to the Saber but I just couldn't find the right matching setting. To hack a $25 hand mic ...

Hi there,
I am trying to modify a military headset to be used in a Saber radio by connecting a cut Saber handmic cable to the headset. The resulting speaker works fine but the mic pickup is really quiet.
I would like to know what is the impedance expectation of the external mic ( ohms @ ? kHz). I ...

DES key data format
Hi there,
Is there any standard on DES key format ? Is it arranged in 8 byte format with the LSB or MSB being the parity ? Is it odd or even parity ?
Thanks in advanced.

Upgrading Astro Saber I to II
This is the first time I got my hand on an Astro Saber, I thought it was a Astro Saber I but when I opened the chasis, I found the top plate has the key pads but no display. This leads me to start thinking is it possible to upgrade the Astro Saber I to II or III by adding the display and firmware ...

The most note worthy Moto green radios are probably the URC-1XX series, and the LST-5.
The former, URC-100,101,110 and 111 are either VHF low or high band + UHF satcom. These are big manpack with up to 20W. The LST-5x are used by special forces such as Seals or Rangers and usually comes with funny ...
