Hi There,

I am sure Monty wont mind me pointing out that his photo does show 'the amazing vanishing black wire!' on the rear of the KVL plug. Those in-the know will already understand that its intertwined with the screen/ground wire on the KVL connector, for those who had not realised, thats where ...

What RSS would a MTX VIP Radio use?

Hi there,

MMMMmm

Tried this myself once, there is a huge component difference on the rear of the VCO boards and even though I swapped both RF items from the Standard spectra it gave me fail 001 and even using hacked RSS and changing the operating frequencies this would not go away. Seems as if you have a ...

Hi guys,

This Mic is from a Motorola MCX100, it fits into the rear of the radio body next to the speaker plug and power connector hence the angled plug. However cant tell you why its red !! I can say for sure that is mic is NOT from a Syntor 9000 series as they have a 3 row D type section connector ...

Thanks Todd,

Just to keep you updated, I have sorted the scan, it was my oversight, so slapped wrists there. Kept me going for a while.

The MPL however must be as you suggest as I cannot get this to work at all. It will allow me to make a MPL list and associate names to each selection but there is ...

Hi There,

Yes I have that selected. To be honest I wonder if its connected to the same reason I cannot get the radios to scan. I have enabled a scan list but cant get the radio to scan any list.

I am beginning to wonder if the MCS2000 has to be flashed with scan and MPL. Its amazed me as I thought ...

MCS2000 MPL Programming Help Rqd.

Hi There,

I was wondering if there is anyone who can help me out a little here.

I have a couple of MCS2000 flashport UHF mobiles. One is a single line display rotary channel change and the other a full keypad 2 line, version.

I have been trying to get the MPL to work on either radio and have ...

Hi there,

Why dont you make one !!

I did this for an MTS2000 and it worked great.

Use the detail on the Batlabs site of the HT1000/MTS2000 connector and rig up a electeret mic in the front of the helmet, or use a boom if open face. Connect an ear piece and you are away on VOX. If you need a PTT ...

MMMMmmm,

I thought there was something weird with those MX1000 series radios on Ebay. One MX1000 a few weeks back had a 'man down' board and was in a secure body. All weird specs SP these radios apparently.

Usually the MX1000 series will go about the band split 5mhz if you are lucky. You will have ...

Hi again,

I have now read that posting you directed me to a couple of times now and I gather that the difinative answer is:

As my module is DVP/DES-OFB and the OFB KG2 cannot be accessed by a single key radio, it is not doing any encryption in Digital mode as DVP (KG1) is not supported as a ...

Thanks,

The radio is not flashed mulitkey, so fine on that.

So does that mean that the second algo in the line up of DVP/DES-OFB is applied only to digital traffic and the first DVP applied to analogue traffic?

I have read in the previous postings that a DES brick will work on both Analogue and ...

Hi there,

I have 2 radios with the same details and you will find its VSELP. Digital operation does not appear in the flashcode for these radios using the Decoder wheel, but they all have Digital enabled in VSELP format.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

I have searched the postings for the answer to this enquiry but there still seems to be conficting answers and I wonder If I asked the question in a slightly different way if the answer would be a little clearer to me.

Hi there,

Its not a case of being 'picky' about how the radio display looks, but there is a very big issue with viewing angle. The less contrasty the display the tighter the viewing angle for legible reading of the display. I am suprised really that given its a dot matrix display and relies on a ...

Is it possible to adjust display contrast on AS3?

Hi there,

Is it possible to make the LCD display on an Astro model 3 Saber appear a little darker, the one I have seems a little light compared to that on both of my Spectra HHCH and I am sure it will be a similar LCD unit. Maybe there is a small potentiometer to adjust?

Could some one enlighten ...

Pin Outs on AVA for speaker?

Hi There,

I am about to use a HHCH with my AS3 in the correct Astro Vehicle Adaptor. I notice that it is supposed to be used with a Y piece, one end going to the AVA the other two splitting Speaker and HHCH.

I do not have this Y adapter, what I was contemplating is: Cutting off the 2 wires that ...
